Waterworld

In a future where melting polar ice has covered nearly all the Earth, people struggle to survive on floating settlements and ships. A barmaid helps a captured seafarer escape with her young charge, and the three set out across the ocean as a ruthless pirate pursues them for a map said to lead to dry land.

My take

You may enjoy this if you like adventurous post-apocalyptic stories, unusual settings, and energetic action; Not for you if you want tightly plotted storytelling, subtle villains, or deeply developed characters.
