The Wind Rises

CriticsCritics: 86
AudienceAudience: 8.0

A young aviation enthusiast, unable to become a pilot, pursues his dream by designing aircraft in 1920s and 1930s Japan. As his career develops amid social upheaval and approaching war, he balances creative ambition with a tender romance and a life shaped by dreams.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you prefer reflective, beautifully animated stories about ambition, love, and creativity over action; Not for you if you need a fast plot or high-stakes adventure like The Boy and the Heron.
