The Ninth Gate

A cynical rare-book dealer is hired to authenticate an occult volume and locate two other copies. His investigation draws him into a shadowy trail of collectors, deception, danger, and paranormal events as he searches for the truth behind a book said to summon the Devil.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy slow-burning occult mysteries, literary puzzles, and Gothic atmosphere; Not for you if you want fast action, clear answers, or a tightly paced thriller.
