The New Statesman

This British sitcom satirizes the Conservative government of the late 1980s and early 1990s through the antics of a corrupt, self-serving backbench politician. Its sharp political humor takes aim at greed and ambition, while drawing laughs from a character viewers may find appalling and entertaining in equal measure.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like sharp British political satire, gleefully nasty humor, and flawed characters who are fun to watch; Not for you if you prefer gentle comedy or even-handed political humor.
