The Haunting

A paranormal investigator recruits a small group for a sleep-disorder study at the remote Hill House. As days pass, their investigation becomes entangled with the mansion’s troubling past, forcing them to face what might be truly haunting the place—and what’s happening within their minds.

My take

If you want an atmospheric, old-school haunted mansion that relies on anticipation and what you can’t fully see, The Haunting is a great pick; Not for you if you need constant action or prefer gore-heavy scares like in Village of the Damned.
