A young German princess arrives in 18th-century Russia to marry its emperor, only to find court life far from what she imagined. As she navigates a volatile relationship and the absurdities of royal society, she begins to envision a different future for herself in this irreverent, fictionalized mix of comedy, romance, and drama.

My take

You may enjoy this if you like dark, irreverent comedy mixed with court intrigue and a determined female lead; Not for you if you want faithful history, restrained humor, or little vulgarity.
