When mysterious lights appear over Los Angeles, a small group of survivors takes refuge in a high-rise as an extraterrestrial force begins abducting people across the city. Trapped and overwhelmed, they struggle to find a way through the invasion while the world outside descends into chaos.

My take

You may enjoy this if you want a tense, effects-driven alien invasion with ordinary people and little optimism; Not for you if you need deep characters, broad world-building, or a neatly resolved story.
