Rick, a downward spiraling surf instructor, living in Hawai’i. He left the small town of Damariscotta, Maine when he was 16, in an effort to escape the weight of his fleeing parents’ reputation. Since relocating to the island, Rick has surrounded himself with like-habited humans, causing him to frequent the local police station.

My take

A darkly comedic character study about a surf instructor spiraling in paradise, weighed down by his past. It's messy, funny, and melancholic—perfect for when you want humor that doesn't shy away from real dysfunction.
