Pompeii

In 79 A.D., a former slave forced into gladiatorial combat races through a city threatened by a catastrophic volcanic eruption. He must escape the arena, protect the woman he loves, and survive as the once-grand city collapses around them.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you want flashy disaster spectacle, arena action, and melodrama in the vein of The Three Musketeers; Not for you if you need nuanced characters, originality, or historical accuracy.
