Pit Boy And The Silver Eagle
In 2008, Seattle artist and motor sports enthusiast David Harto took his grandfather’s 1952 Cushman Eagle motor scooter and began to transform it into a work of rolling art and lean muscle. What began as an entertaining art project mushroomed into an adventure in the esoteric sport of land speed racing. Four record-setting attempts and thirteen years later he ventures to Utah’s storied Bonneville salt flats in the hopes of joining a short list of legends in the annals of speed racing glory.
A quietly obsessive portrait of one man's 13-year quest to transform his grandfather's vintage scooter into a land speed racing machine. It's the kind of documentary that celebrates meticulous craftsmanship, unconventional passion, and the meditative power of chasing an impossible dream.
