Pickled Henry

Stripped of his military pension when he was outed thirty years earlier, Henry now works as a cleaner. When he meets younger ex-soldier, Jake, he learns he may now be able to have his pension reinstated. Suffering from PTSD, Henry is not sure he has the strength to fight another battle, but when his former boyfriend Benji needs a place to live, the three men learn how to live, love, and be a team together.

My take

A tender, intimate story about three men learning to build a life together after decades of pain and displacement. Hopeful without being naive—this is healing that takes work, with the kind of quiet emotional depth that stays with you.
