Ocean Valour: Salcombe - New York
On 3rd May 2015, Tom Rainey and Lawrence Walters set out from Manhattan, New York to row 4,100 miles unsupported across the North Atlantic Ocean. This 20-minute film documents the journey of two lifelong friends and what led them to tackle the dark and mysterious beast that is the North Atlantic in memory of Tom’s Father Luke, who died from a brain tumour in 2012. After 93 days at sea, the pair raised over £130,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity and broke four world records.
A quietly powerful story of two friends pushing human limits across the North Atlantic. This is the kind of documentary that grips you with intimacy and purpose—a meditation on grief, friendship, and what we're capable of when we row toward something that matters.
