Audience

Set in 1991, a newly minted special agent begins work at the fledgling NCIS office in Camp Pendleton. Joining a gritty, unconventional team led by a legendary senior agent, he starts finding his place while the series explores the early experiences that shape him.

My take

You may enjoy this darker, more character-focused origin story if you like NCIS and patient investigations; Not for you if you want the original series’ lighter banter and familiar cast.
