National Treasure: Kiri

After a young girl in foster care goes missing and is later found dead, the people closest to her are pulled into a painful search for answers. As suspicion spreads, a social worker, the foster family, and the child’s relatives face intense scrutiny, public pressure, and a growing web of blame, guilt, and conflicting stories.

My take

You may like this if you want a grim, character-driven mystery about institutions, blame, and public pressure, in the vein of Top of the Lake or Dublin Murders; Not for you if you need a fast pace and clear, tidy closure.
