Geostorm

After a worldwide disaster-control satellite network begins causing extreme weather instead of preventing it, a former system designer is drawn into a race to uncover the threat. As disasters spread across the planet, the effort to stop a catastrophic geostorm becomes increasingly urgent.

My take

You may enjoy this as lightweight, high-concept disaster entertainment with plenty of spectacle, especially if you like Moonfall or Battleship; Not for you if you want believable science, subtle drama, or strong character development.
