Critics

Audience

When a serial killer recreates murders from a mystery novelist’s books, the novelist gains permission to join a New York homicide team as a research consultant. Paired with a serious detective, he brings unconventional ideas, playful energy, and a growing interest in his formidable partner to their investigations.

My take

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want light crime mysteries, playful romance, and character-driven humor like The Mentalist or Elementary; Not for you if you need strict realism or consistently strong later seasons.
