Capernaum

A hardened 12-year-old boy living in poverty runs away from his negligent parents and struggles to survive on the streets. After becoming responsible for a refugee mother’s baby, he faces increasingly difficult choices before taking his protest against his upbringing to court.

My take

You’ll appreciate this if you value compassionate, socially conscious dramas with raw realism and resilient young characters; Not for you if you avoid bleak, emotionally demanding stories or prefer subtle, understated messaging.
