Blue Streak

A jewel thief hides a valuable diamond in a building under construction, only to return from prison and discover it has become a police station. To retrieve his prize, he impersonates a detective and unexpectedly gets pulled into real police work while trying to maintain his cover.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy fast-talking buddy-cop comedies, broad humor, and implausible crime capers; Not for you if you prefer realistic plots, subtle comedy, or more originality.
