In 1847, a hardened soldier returns to Ireland after serving abroad and finds his homeland devastated by starvation, eviction, and death. After reconnecting with his remaining family, he begins pursuing those he holds responsible, while a former comrade leads a tense search to bring him back.

My take

You’ll like this if you enjoy bleak, intense revenge westerns such as The Nightingale or Seraphim Falls, but Not for you if you want a hopeful drama or detailed historical analysis.
