In famine-stricken Ireland in 1847, a hardened former soldier returns home and finds his family and community devastated. As authorities pursue him, he begins a relentless quest for revenge, while a conflicted former comrade is drawn into the chase.

My take

You may enjoy this if you want a bleak, intense historical revenge thriller with morally conflicted characters, especially if you liked The Nightingale or Seraphim Falls; Not for you if you prefer hopeful stories or subtle, character-led drama.
