Billy Bang: Long Overdue
The free jazz violinist and composer from Harlem, Billy Bang, is portrayed in this unique documentary using rare footage and interviewing jazz luminaries of the time, to describe who Billy was and how he affected them and their world.
My takeA reverential portrait of Billy Bang, the visionary free jazz violinist who shaped Harlem's experimental music scene. This is the kind of documentary that honors a legacy through intimate testimony—best watched when you're ready to sit with something profound and let it reshape how you listen.
