A retired detective is drawn into a missing-person case while visiting family abroad. What begins as a search soon exposes a dangerous criminal network, pushing him toward obsession and placing those closest to him at risk.

My take

You may enjoy this if you like dark, morally complex crime dramas such as The Missing, but it is Not for you if you want brisk pacing, consistently believable dialogue, or a neatly focused mystery.
