A sheltered group of academics has spent years compiling an encyclopedia when one realizes their slang research is hopelessly outdated. He ventures into the city and meets a quick-witted nightclub singer who knows the language of the streets—and needs a safe place to hide.

My take

You’ll enjoy this if you like fast-talking screwball romances, eccentric ensembles, and playful language, with a tone that may appeal to fans of Midnight or The Thin Man; Not for you if broad, predictable comedy wears thin.
